How to choose the right system size
Size follows two numbers: peak demand in kVA and daily energy use in kWh. Peak demand decides the inverter; daily energy decides the battery and array. A four-bedroom home running lights, fridges, television, pumps and one inverter air conditioner typically consumes 8–14 kWh a day, which maps cleanly onto a 5 kVA system with 10 kWh of lithium storage. Clinics, cold rooms and factories should always be sized from a metered load study rather than an estimate, because compressor inrush dominates the inverter rating.
Location matters too. Coastal Lagos and Port Harcourt demand marine-grade mounting and corrosion protection; Kano and Kaduna gain irradiance but lose yield to dust, so panel cleaning intervals shorten; Accra and Kumasi sit on a steadier grid, which lets many clients specify a smaller battery and lean on daytime solar.
